Two men driving a stolen car near Fillmore on Tuesday afternoon ditched the vehicle and fled through citrus orchards with California Highway Patrol officers in pursuit, CHP officials said.
The two men were driving a car stolen from San Bernardino, said CHP spokesman Dave Cockrill.
When first spotted near Fillmore, the driver refused a CHP officer’s command to pull over and drove away, Cockrill said. The pair abandoned the car near an orchard, fled on foot and eluded a police dog, officers and a helicopter, Cockrill said.
No one was injured in the pursuit.
