Fluor Daniel Wins $500-Million Contract From Witco

IRVINE — Fluor Daniel said Monday that it has won a contract to provide engineering and construction services for chemical giant Witco Corp.’s $600-million restructuring of its worldwide manufacturing facilities.
The contract’s value to Fluor Daniel, the engineering and construction arm of Irvine-based Fluor Corp., is $500 million. Connecticut-based Witco wants to modernize more than 20 manufacturing facilities. The contract calls for the work to be completed by the end of 1999.
Most of the work will be done through Fluor Daniel’s Houston office, with support from engineering offices in New Jersey, the Netherlands, Germany and England.
