Jr. Philharmonic Diamond Jubilee Gala Planned

Tom Snyder, Shirley Jones and Ed Asner are scheduled to be on hand for the 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Gala of the Jr. Philharmonic Orchestra of California on May 28 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
The event’s scheduled co-hosts include Roy Firestone, Marty Ingels, Ken Minyard, Terry Murphy, Avery Schreiber, Wil Shriner and Connie Stevens.
The evening will also include the presentation of Diamond Baton Awards to several members of the Hollywood community, including Army Archerd, Asner, Pat Boone, Jack Carter, Buddy Ebsen, Jones and Don Knotts.
The musical program will include works by Mozart, Schubert, Tchaikovsky and Richard M. Sherman, who will lead the Jr. Philharmonic Orchestra in his score to “Mary Poppins.”
