ANGELS’ MARK LANGSTON (2-2, 4.39 ERA) vs. MARINERS’ JAMIE MOYER (3-0, 2.52 ERA)
* UPDATE: Langston, who missed three weeks because of an inflamed left elbow, pitched a strong six innings in his return to the rotation Tuesday against Chicago. He gave up six hits and two earned runs while striking out five and walking only one. Seattle, which has lost four in a row, is 13-7 on the road. Ken Griffey Jr., who has driven in 15 runs in the last 10 games, leads the league in homers (19) and is among the top three in RBIs (50), runs (36) and total bases (123). The Angels don’t have to face Randy Johnson during the series. Dennis Martinez will be making his seventh attempt to win his 242nd game Wednesday. Martinez, 42, is hoping to become the winningest Latin American pitcher, surpassing Juan Marichal, who had 243 victories.
