Fans: Lakers to Blame, Not All That Jazz

I have generally considered Jerry West to be as fine a general manager as he was a player. So why does West insist that Del Harris is the right coach for the Lakers?
Harris is a decent guy, but his lack of offensive ingenuity, seemingly random substitution patterns and inability to respond to strategies of opposing coaches was never more apparent than against Utah.
Del Harris is simply not the right fit for this talented but young Laker team.

I’m not a fan of Del Harris. I’ve never heard a word out of his mouth that wasn’t self-serving. He’s a world-class spin doctor. He plays to the press, to Dr. Buss and to Jerry West. He compares himself to mediocrity and says “we’re doing pretty well.”
I hope he finds a nice small college where his ego can shine.

Coach Del Harris is a well-mannered gentleman, polite and understanding, who is not known to use profanity. Maybe he should join K.C. Jones in the WNBA. Is Bobby Knight available?

That a vacillating, nonsensical Donald T. Sterling, such as the one portrayed in Mark Heisler’s interview, could amass the wealth of a multimillionaire is illogical. That the same individual espousing basketball ideology can ineptly lead such as haphazard organization as the Clippers appears totally explainable. Let’s hope that one of those may be an offer to relocate the team back to Buffalo. And he accepts.
