Granada Hills Burns Cleveland

Senior right-hander Josh Hamilton pitched a four-hitter and Granada Hills High denied Cleveland the North Valley League baseball title, 2-0, on Thursday at Granada Hills.
Kennedy won the league title by defeating San Fernando despite losing all three games to Cleveland this season.
Hamilton finished with four strikeouts and no walks for the Highlanders (7-19, 3-14 in league play).
Oscar Fernandez allowed five hits, struck out seven and had no walks for Cleveland (15-11, 11-6).
Kennedy 13, San Fernando 4--After pitching a three-hitter and losing to Cleveland on Tuesday, Jon Garland hit a two-run triple and a double and scored three runs for the Golden Cougars (20-10, 12-5) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Kennedy.
Tim Arroyo and David Lusk each drove in two runs with two hits for Kennedy.
San Fernando finished 12-15, 3-14.
Chatsworth 11, Birmingham 1--Tom Morefield hit a grand slam in the first inning and David Sark added a two-run double in the fifth for the Chancellors (18-8, 13-4) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Chatsworth.
Greg Wold (6-3) pitched a six-hitter with four strikeouts.
El Camino Real 8, Taft 3--Woody Cliffords was three for three with two runs scored, two runs batted in and two stolen bases for the Conquistadores (16-10, 11-6) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at El Camino Real.
Matt Aaronson had two hits, including a home run, for Taft (13-13, 7-10).
North Hollywood 19, Grant 3--Merrill Dunn hit a solo home run and a three-run triple and Ismael Rangsiyawong hit a three-run home run and a double to help the host Huskies (25-6, 14-3) clinch the East Valley League title.
Jose Figueroa had a run-scoring triple in a two-hit, three-RBI performance for North Hollywood, which is ranked eighth in the region by The Times.
Esteban Saldivar’s first home run, a two-run shot in the second inning, gave Grant (9-18, 6-11) a 2-1 lead.
North Hollywood scored three runs in its half the second to regain the lead and exploded for 13 runs in the third.
Reseda 9, Monroe 7--Alfredo Seanz and Jose Alamillo each had two hits and the Regents (12-11, 9-8) clinched the Mid-Valley League title at Monroe in a game that featured five errors by each team.
John Ennis had two hits for the Vikings (12-14, 7-10).
Van Nuys 7, Canoga Park 3--Jose Ayala had two hits, including a solo home run, and Jose Avila had three hits for the Wolves (3-19, 3-14) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Canoga Park.
Michael Kim had a triple and two RBIs for Van Nuys.
Chaminade 12, St. Francis 3--Bruce Greenwood pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and two walks and the Eagles (24-2, 10-2) clinched the Mission League title at St. Francis.
Tyler Dersom had three hits and drove in three runs, and Ryan Hamill had three hits, including two doubles, for Chaminade, the top-ranked team in The Times’ regional poll.
Frazier Mountain 10, L.A. Baptist 9--The Knights (14-10, 8-4) fell to third place in the Alpha League when Ruben Ayala hit a three-run home run for the Falcons (12-11, 6-6) with one out in the seventh in an Alpha League game at Frazier Mountain.
Jeremy Ames had three hits and three RBIs for L.A. Baptist, including a run-scoring single that gave the Knights a 9-7 lead in the seventh.
Glendale 6, Crescenta Valley 5--Chris Barvis singled home Fernando Rios with one out in the sixth inning to lift the Dynamiters in a Pacific league game at Glendale.
The Dynamiters (16-8, 8-7) clinched third place and a spot in the playoffs.
Rios and Jon Walton each had two hits for Glendale.
Jason Lamotte had a triple and a single for the league-champion Falcons (15-5, 11-3).
Viewpoint 18, South Bay Lutheran 1--Alex Kadin tripled and Kareem Shaarawy doubled for the visiting Patriots (14-5, 10-0) in a Heritage League game that was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
