Lots in Stalled Lang Ranch Project Sold

A troubled Orange County company has sold undeveloped lots in Lang Ranch to a developer that plans to resume the stalled housing project.
The Baldwin Co. earlier this month sold 135 home lots in the Eagle Ridge portion of Lang Ranch to developer Standard Pacific Ventura, according to Steve Boggs, president of Standard Pacific Ventura in Westlake Village. Boggs said the company will begin home construction in the portion of Lang Ranch off Westlake Boulevard within a few weeks.
Standard Pacific officials plan to meet with owners of about 65 homes in Eagle Ridge that were built by Baldwin, Boggs said. Baldwin filed for bankruptcy two years ago, and homeowners in Eagle Ridge have been worried that street construction there will remain unfinished, he said.
Boggs said Pardee Construction, which has an office in Camarillo, purchased the remaining 200 lots at Eagle Ridge development. Officials at Pardee and Baldwin did not return phone calls Wednesday.
