Giordano Has 3-Hitter, Saugus Clinches Title

Nicole Giordano (21-5) pitched a three-hitter, striking out seven, and Saugus High defeated Burroughs, 4-1, on Tuesday at Olive Park to clinch the Foothill League championship.
Amanda Melton had two hits and drove in a run for the Centurions (21-5, 9-0 in league play).
Hart 3, Valencia 0--Amanda Fortune pitched a one-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks, and Courtney Sherlock had two hits, an RBI and scored a run for the Indians in a Foothill League game at Newhall Park.
Newbury Park 4, Westlake 1--Tina Roscore had two hits, including a solo home run in the fourth inning, two RBIs and scored two runs for the Panthers (16-9, 7-6) in a Marmonte League game at Westlake.
Thousand Oaks 2, Agoura 0--Jennifer Sharron (18-3) pitched a one-hitter and struck out 12 for the Lancers (22-3, 11-2), who clinched a share of the Marmonte League title at Agoura (15-7-1, 6-6-1).
Jennifer Richards had two hits and scored the go-ahead run on Coleen Spencer’s squeeze in the fourth inning.
Highland 4, Lancaster 1--Katie Gonzalez, Jennifer Stevenson and Michelle Wintermute each had two hits and scored a run for the Bulldogs (15-10, 6-3), who clinched a playoff berth in a Golden League game at Lancaster.
Rio Mesa 9, Ventura 0--Carol Rogers had two hits and drove in three runs for the Spartans (17-6, 11-2) in a Channel League game at Ventura (5-18, 3-10).
Calabasas 10, Santa Paula 0--Meredith Eisz had three hits and Heather Bell hit a three-run home run in the first inning for the Coyotes (9-10, 8-5) in a Frontier League game at Calabasas.
L.A. Baptist 6, Frazier Mountain 0--Karis Grant scored two runs and Anni Iverson had a triple for the Knights (18-4, 8-1) who remained in a first-place tie in the Alpha League at L.A. Baptist.
Village Christian 17, Vasquez 0--Jaclyn Aranda (12-6) pitched a five-inning no-hitter with 13 strikeouts in an Alpha League game at Vasquez.
St. Bonaventure 11, Oak Park 5--Claire McNamara hit two homers for Seraphs (13-8, 7-2) in a Tri-Valley League game at St. Bonaventure.
La Reina 4, Fillmore 2--Kristen Ward pitched a two-hitter, striking out five for the Regents (14-8-1, 7-2) in a Tri-Valley League game at La Reina.
