SEASON AT A GLANCE: Bound for the University of Arizona on scholarship, Giordano is having her third consecutive outstanding season in leading the Centurions (20-5), ranked second in the region by The Times. The area’s premier leadoff hitter, she leads all local players with 45 stolen bases and all Southern Section players with a .588 batting average. She also has a 20-5 record with a 0.47 earned-run average.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Giordano had six hits and six stolen bases during the week. She was four for four with four steals in an 11-3 win over Burbank on Tuesday. She came back with a one-hit, eight-strikeout performance that included two hits and two steals in a 9-0 win over Valencia on Thursday that allowed Saugus to clinch at least a tie for the Foothill League championship.
