Trustees to Discuss Plans for a New Gym

Moving forward on a long-standing goal, Moorpark’s school board Tuesday will discuss plans for a new gymnasium at Chaparral Middle School.
District Supt. Tom Duffy has asked that the board authorize him to pursue design and construction of the gym.
Specific information on the proposed gymnasium’s cost was not available last week, but past estimates for renovations at the school have put the combined price of the gym and a proposed campus library at about $1 million.
Chaparral has already undergone extensive renovation during the past year, with wiring being installed to link classrooms to the Internet.
