Sergei Eisenstein’s 1938 masterpiece stars Nikolai Cherkassov in the title role and tells of Russian resistance to a 13th-Century German invasion. It’s a prophetic parable with justly famous battle scenes and an equally renowned score by Sergei Prokofiev (Bravo Monday at 8 a.m., 3 and 10:30 p.m.).
