DEEPER MEANING

As one who has worked for more than eight years in the field of alcohol- and other drug-abuse prevention, I can’t help but wonder whether Cardinal Roger Mahony (Letters, April 13) read the whole article about the third generation of the Gallo family. If he had, I’d be fascinated to learn how the “vision and spirit of these wonderful families” and the “deep-faith life” give “deeper meaning” to the production and marketing of Thunderbird, a sweet fortified wine with 18% alcohol content that would seem to meet perfectly the demand of Skid Row alcoholics.
