A Los Angeles woman on her way to Goleta to spend Mother’s Day with her family died Saturday when her car went out off the side of Pacific Coast Highway and crashed west of the Los Angeles County line.
Rhoda Pomerantz, 72, was a half a mile north of Yerba Buena Road when her 1987 Dodge Aries veered off the highway about 12:51 p.m. and rolled over, according to California Highway Patrol officers.
Pomerantz was pronounced dead at the scene. No other cars were involved.
“She was coming up here to spend Mother’s Day with me,” said daughter Jane Pomerantz of Goleta. “I’m still trying to regroup.”
