Immunizations to Be Offered

St. John’s Regional Medical Center is offering low-cost childhood immunizations Tuesday at the Camarillo Health Care District.
Vaccinations include those for tetanus, mumps, measles, rubella, diphtheria, pertussis, polio and hepatitis B.
The cost is $5 per child, regardless of how many vaccinations the child receives. The family maximum is $15, no matter how many children in each immediate family receive shots.
“Each year, only 63% of Ventura County children are properly vaccinated,” said Rita Schumacher, spokeswoman for St. John’s Regional Medical Center. St. John’s hopes at least 90% of the county’s children will be properly vaccinated against life-threatening diseases by 2000, Schumacher said.
Children from newborn through the age of 18 can receive vaccinations with a parent or legal guardian present. Bring immunization cards to record the new vaccinations and inform medical staff members of vaccinations already received.
The immunization clinic will be held 3 to 6 p.m. at the Camarillo Health Care District at 3639 E. Las Posas Road.
Other clinics include one from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall at 500 N. Juanita Ave. in Oxnard and again in Camarillo from 3 to 6 p.m. May 23 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 3532 E. Ventura Blvd.
