Baja Resort Plans to Open July 1--Really

After several delays, a new, small upscale resort in Baja, with telescopes and fireplaces in each room, is finally scheduled to open July 1 between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. And this time, the managers say they’re not kidding.
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, whose seven luxury properties include the Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, previously said its Las Ventanas al Paraiso (“windows to paradise”) hotel would open Feb. 1 and then March 1, and magazine ads this month tout a June opening.
But last week, a spokeswoman said the hotel will open July 1, “barring any acts of God.” Located on the Sea of Cortez, it includes 61 rooms and suites ranging from 675 to 3,000 square feet, a restaurant and an outdoor grill, a spa and four swimming pools. Four suites have their own pools, and 28 rooms have hot tubs.
Introductory rates, through Aug. 31, are $412.75 to $3,175 per room per night, double occupancy, including taxes and service charges; then they become $476.25 to $3,810. Packages with meals, golf and spa treatments also are available. Reservations: (888) 525-0483.
