ANGELS’ SHIGETOSHI HASEGAWA (1-1, 7.63 ERA) VS. WHITE SOX’S JAIME NAVARRO (2-1, 4.50 ERA)
Comiskey Park, Chicago, 11 a.m.

* Update--White Sox Manager Terry Bevington appears to be clinging to his job, and former Angel manager Doug Rader, Chicago’s third-base coach, is poised to replace him. “I don’t want to hear any more excuses, it’s time to win some ballgames,” Chicago General Manager Ron Schueler said before this homestand. “I’ve done a lot of evaluating, and there could be changes at the end of the homestand or during it. . . . It should be put on the players just as much as the manager, but there have never been any players fired.” Hasegawa, the Japanese right-hander, will make his first start since April 5, when he was ineffective in a 7-5 loss to the Cleveland Indians. He was demoted to the bullpen and gave up only one run in his last five appearances. Navarro is beginning to pay dividends on his four-year, $20-million contract, throwing a complete-game six-hitter with seven strikeouts to beat Texas, 2-1, last Tuesday.
