When the state lottery began several years ago, the publicity said that the profits would go to improve California schools. Yet I keep reading about the terrible physical condition of so many of the schools in Los Angeles. What’s happening to the money?
Every time the prize is over $3 million, I and a couple of friends “invest” $15 in lottery tickets. I know that millions of others are buying tickets, and only a few win.
