63-Year-Old Mom

Would someone please explain to me what is the ethical question surrounding the 63-year-old woman who gave birth (April 24)? I don’t see anyone concerned with ethics when grandparents are left to raise the kids. And I don’t see many people offering to help, either.

* “There is no way she can care for that child.” This wailing and concern over the 63-year-old mother is irritating. My wife, age 74, has a 9-year-old granddaughter she has cared for during the day since the child was born. Her mother takes her to school, but my wife picks her up from school, takes her to dance class, takes her to art class and other errands too numerous to mention. During the summer vacations, she cares for the child five days a week.

To those who are so “concerned,” grandmas love their children and their grandchildren, and the “work” of love goes on.
