A man who authorities said was stabbed during an argument with a 17-year-old Ventura boy was reported in guarded condition Saturday with multiple wounds to his chest.
Police are not sure about the motive for the attack, but say a woman that dated the victim and the suspect was in the house near Ventura College at the time of the stabbing.
At about 9:50 p.m. Friday, 26-year-old Scott Tews of Ventura got into an argument with the teenager at the house in the 3900 block of Madison Street, police said.
The argument became physical, and Tews was stabbed, said Ventura Police Sgt. Gary McCaskill. The woman, whom police did not identify, reported the stabbing.
Before authorities arrived, Tews went to to Ventura County Medical Center where he underwent surgery. The suspect fled the area.
The juvenile, accompanied by his father, turned himself in at the Ventura police station later that night, and was booked into Juvenile Hall in Ventura on suspicion of attempted murder, McCaskill said.
His name was not released.
The investigation is continuing.
