Irvine Dashes Past Newport Harbor, 7-6

Pinch runner Chris Faxon scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a wild pitch with two outs as Irvine defeated Newport Harbor, 7-6, in a Sea View League baseball game Friday night.
Faxon was subbed in for Matt Brundage who had walked. Faxon advanced to third on a single by Ryan Brucker.
In the top of the seventh, Newport Harbor (6-14, 2-9) tied the score when Danny Pulido’s two-out double drove in Joe Urban from first base.
Irvine improved to 14-8 overall, 8-3 in league.
