Farmers Market in New Location
The Hermosa Beach Farmers Market is moving uptown, so to speak.
The 7-year-old weekly market is moving from downtown to Valley Drive between 9th and 11th streets to accommodate construction in the downtown area. Lower Pier Avenue is undergoing a major face-lift, and though it is scheduled to be completed later this month, construction on a downtown hotel and parking structure is to begin later this year.
Booths at the Friday market will be set up in the parking spaces along Valley Drive across from Clark Field and along the roadway’s greenbelt. Parking will be available along the street and at City Hall. The road will remain open to traffic.
Once the construction projects are complete, the Chamber of Commerce will consider moving the market back to the seaside location. The market is held each Friday from noon to 4 p.m.
