TONIGHT’S GAME

DODGERS’ RAMON MARTINEZ (2-2, 3.82 ERA) vs. CUBS’ AMAURY TELEMACO (0-1, 4.05)

* Update--There’s no truth to the rumor that the Dodgers sent limousines to the airport to pick up the Cubs, who set the National League record by losing 14 consecutive games to start the season. Maybe that’s because the Cubs are a longtime Dodger nemesis. The Cubs have won 15 of their last 25 games, and the Dodgers haven’t beaten the Cubs in a season series since 1991. Besides that, Cub Manager Jim Riggleman has taken advantage of Dodger castoff Dave Hansen. Hansen, who was the Dodgers’ top left-handed pinch-hitter the last few years, is batting .286. The Dodger bullpen is hoping to get a reprieve this series. Relief pitchers have been used 75 times, including a whopping 21 times during the just-ended seven-game trip.

* Saturday, 7 p.m.--Ismael Valdes (1-3, 3.14) vs. Terry Mulholland (1-3, 3.22).

* Saturday, 7 p.m.--Chan Ho Park (1-1, 2.22) vs. Steve Trachsel (1-3, 7.04).
