School District to Have Kindergarten Sign-Ups

To facilitate registration of all students who will be attending kindergarten in September, Saddleback Valley Unified School District will have its annual Kindergarten Roundup next week.
Parents may visit neighborhood schools and sign up youngsters for the 1997-98 school year.
To be eligible for kindergarten in the fall, children must be 5 years old on or before Dec. 2.
Parents are requested to provide school officials with a birth certificate or other proof of the child’s birth date, such as a duly attested baptismal certificate or a passport. California law also requires that the district be shown a clinic record or physician’s letter indicating that a child has been immunized before he or she may enter school.
