The Midtown Veterinary Clinic in Newbury Park will join hundreds of pet shelters across the nation Saturday and Sunday for Pet Adoptathon ’97.
The 36-hour event will link 1,000 animal shelters in the United States, Canada and other countries to help match thousands of homeless cats, dogs, puppies and kittens with good families.
Last year’s event found homes for more than 12,500 animals.
Adoptive families receive starter kits from the Iams Co., one of the event’s sponsors. Kits include Iams dog and cat food and brochures about training and nutrition.
The clinic is located at 3333-D Kimber Drive.
Other participants include the Los Angeles County Animal Control shelter No. 6 in Castaic and several more throughout Los Angeles County.
To find other participating shelters, call the Iams pet adoption hotline at (800) 863-4267, or visit the Pet Adoptathon Web site on the Internet at https://www.iams.com
