Loehmann’s, an off-price retailer of upscale apparel and accessories, has opened a 25,000-square-foot store at the Market Place in Irvine.
The new location is one of the largest in the New York-based company’s chain of 75 stores. Loehmann’s sells designer and brand-name women’s wear at discount prices, including apparel from Nicole Miller, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren and Jones New York.
Loehmann’s is concentrating on Southern California expansion this year. The chain reports that about a quarter of its revenue is generated by its 10 Golden State locations. The company plans to open stores in Long Beach, Torrance and West Covina by year’s end.
The expansion in Southern California is part of an overall plan to open as many as 10 locations annually for the next several years.
