Duck update--This is an opportunity for the Ducks to put some distance between themselves and the Flames, who are tied for eighth, three points behind Anaheim. The Ducks are 8-1-5 in their last 14 games, but will be tested tonight if they are without leading scorer Teemu Selanne, who is questionable because of a strained muscle in his side. Guy Hebert is the probable starter in goal after missing the final two periods of a victory over Edmonton on Sunday because he hyperventilated.
Flame update--Calgary is tied with Chicago for the final Western Conference playoff spot, but lost two important points in a loss to Tampa Bay on Friday. The Flames blew a two-goal lead before losing in overtime. Calgary has eight games remaining--five at home and only three against .500 teams. Jarome Iginla, the NHL’s leading rookie scorer, has 48 points, but only one point in the last 10 games.
