King update--Former Canuck forward Nathan LaFayette scored a short-handed goal in the Kings’ 2-1 victory over San Jose on Saturday that ended a four-game winless streak. Vitali Yachmenev scored the Kings’ first power-play goal in three games. The Kings have outscored the Canucks by a combined 7-0 in the last two games between the teams. Goaltender Stephane Fiset, who recorded both shutouts, will not play tonight because of a groin/stomach injury. Byron Dafoe is expected to start his fourth consecutive game.
Canuck update--Adrian Aucoin, Markus Naslund and Martin Gelinas scored in Vancouver’s 3-2 victory over Tampa Bay on Saturday as the Canucks won for only the second time in their last 11 games. Alexander Mogilny has 28 goals and 67 points. Gelinas has 28 goals and 56 points. The Canucks are 17-16-2 at home and are 1-1 against the Kings at GM Place.
