* * Rollins Band, “Come In and Burn,” DreamWorks. Though these songs pack a stinging, metallic bite and latent funk grind, they also reflect a gritty street-lore sensibility that recalls Lou Reed. What’s missing is the surly irony that gives Reed’s music its satiric edge. As a result, even Henry Rollins’ keenest verbal attacks come off like so much blustery spoken-wordiness.
