A Moorpark woman is scheduled to appear before a judge in two weeks on charges that she supplied beer and liquor to teenagers at her home.
Diana Richeson, 36, was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Saturday by Ventura County sheriff’s deputies responding to a loud party in the 1500 block of Campus Park Drive, said Senior Deputy Ed Tumbleson of the department’s Moorpark Division.
Deputies found about 15 teenagers ranging in age from 16 to 18 sitting in the living room and drinking beer, Tumbleson said.
It was not the first time deputies had been to the house, but in the past, Richeson was not there when they arrived. This time, she was found hiding in a bedroom closet and was arrested, Tumbleson said.
The youths at the party told deputies that she had also provided them with wine, wine coolers and rum, he said. Richeson, who has two teenage children of her own, told deputies that she preferred that the youths drink at her home under her supervision than on the streets, Tumbleson said.
She faces misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. If convicted, she could face up to a year in County Jail and fines of up to $2,500, Tumbleson said.
