Gentler Air Bags to Get OK, Official Says

Dr. Ricardo Martinez, administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, said auto makers will soon get the go-ahead to put less forceful air bags in new vehicles. The announcement allowing auto makers to install air bags that deploy with 20% to 35% less force could come as soon as today, government officials said.
