* Re “Home Loans for Police, Firefighters Unveiled,” March 4: I applaud the efforts of Los Angeles to offer mortgages for public safety workers to live in the city.
I want to be the first to personally invite them to Leimert Park, where I live. We are a multiracial, middle-class neighborhood of neat stucco homes halfway between the Westside and downtown. We have an active neighborhood association and we are close to shopping and the freeway. My commute to work downtown as a public health nurse is 15 minutes. Come join us, you won’t regret it!
