Police discovered the body of a girl--a 9-year-old missing since August 1992--in Brussels. The remains of Loubna Benaissa were found in a steel trunk in the cellar of a garage just yards from her home. Garage employee Patrick Derochette, 33, a convicted child-sex offender, was charged with abduction and illegal imprisonment in circumstances leading to death as well as the rape of a child under 10 years old, public prosecutor Michel Bourlet said. The latest discovery revived the sense of sorrow and outrage against the police and judiciary that swept the nation after revelations of official bungling in another child-sex case.
