An American Airlines jet landing in Cleveland skidded off the runway in sleet and snow, the airline said. The right landing gear collapsed as the McDonnell-Douglas MD-80 came to rest in mud just off the runway, the airline said. Airline spokeswoman Andrea Rader said the 103 passengers and six crew members were evacuated via slides, apparently without serious injury. Flight 320 had left Dallas-Fort Worth about 2 1/2 hours earlier, Rader said. WKYC-TV3 in Cleveland reported the flight originated in Los Angeles, but Rader said she could not confirm that.
