SCC Defeats Biola on McIntee’s Last-Second Shot

Justin McIntee scored with one second remaining to give Southern California College a 80-79 victory over Biola Tuesday in a Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball game at Biola.
McIntee, a former Newport Harbor High standout who transferred from Biola, scored 14 points and Adam Dzierzynski had 25 points and seven assists for the Vanguards (19-7, 6-3). It was the sixth consecutive conference victory for SCC, which moved into a tie for second with Biola (20-4, 6-3), ranked 12th in the NAIA.
In a Golden State Athletic Conference women’s game:
Concordia 86, Azusa Pacific 54--Heather Carll scored 19 points and had 17 rebounds for the Eagles (20-5, 7-1), who put some distance between themselves and second-place Azusa Pacific (13-10, 5-3).
After Azusa Pacific scored the first four points, Audre Moss sparked a 17-0 run for the Eagles, making three three-pointers. Moss had 17 points, Angela Sather had 16 points and Kristin Weddick had seven points and 13 assists.
In nonconference softball:
UCLA 3-0, Long Beach State 2-2--The 49ers beat Olympic team pitcher Christa Williams (1-2) in the second game when Tiffany Blood hit a home run in the seventh inning. Blood’s homer is the first of the season against second-ranked UCLA (5-3).
In the first game, UCLA beat No. 14 49ers (1-1) when Julie Adams drove in Christi Ambrosi in the bottom of the sixth.
