The Nike Extravaganza II at the Bren Center is Saturday’s hottest ticket. Among the five boys’ games scheduled, the biggest will feature non-county teams. Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy (16-3), the nation’s 20th-ranked team, plays Compton Dominguez (14-4), the sixth-ranked team, at 5:30 p.m. Mater Dei (19-2), the top-ranked team in Orange County and the nation’s 19th-ranked team, plays Carmichael Jesuit (16-3), ranked seventh in Northern California, at 7:30 p.m.

With many teams taking Wednesday off during finals week, the league races resume Friday night. A couple of key matchups: Katella (16-4, 4-1) plays host to Cypress (14-7, 4-1) in the Empire League, and El Toro (15-6, 2-3) hopes to stay in the Sea View League race after playing host to Woodbridge (16-3, 5-0). Both games start at 7:30 p.m.
