WHITEWATER, Wis. — An apartment building manager has been charged with videotaping female college students with a camera disguised as a smoke detector in a shower, officials said Tuesday.
Walworth County prosecutors said the 38-year-old man was ordered to appear in court Feb. 4. He was arrested Saturday after a 20-year-old woman told police she was suspicious about the placement of a smoke detector in a shower.
“Investigation indicated that the manager did install the camera and may have installed another camera in a tanning booth room,” Whitewater police said. “Police also confiscated computer equipment, computer discs and videotapes, which appeared to contain explicit sexual material.”
