Adoptions

The critics of Gov. Pete Wilson’s position regarding adoptions and poor mothers are neglecting the fact that a woman who is already in a situation where she can’t take care of herself shows a lack of responsibility by deciding to have a child at that time. Birth control is one way to raise the standard of living, because unfortunately there are also plenty of irresponsible men involved.
Money does not make a person a qualified parent. But it sure helps to know that there is enough money to put food on the table, offer a decent education and also to have enough quality time to spend with the child. Love is of utmost importance, but it does not take care of the above mentioned.
The only way to offer a standard of living that is worthy to all and with a promise for a brighter future is to lead the way by example. Please, put the child’s right to a positive life ahead of your own.
At times a child is served better by living within a family unit that has wanted to love a child for so long, a family that has jumped through all the hoops and that can offer the child a future full of promise on every level. Sometimes that family is an adoptive family.
