Medicare Plan

Bravo to Congress for looking into what should have been a priority all along (“Medicare Plan Looks for Cure in Prevention,” Jan. 15).
Now, take a second look at the order of importance in the comment of Rep. Benjamin L. Cardin (D-Md.): “This proposal would result in large cost savings in the long run, as well as saving lives.”
It’s clear that money still rules the game. The saving of lives looks like an afterthought.
