Two Tournaments Scheduled This Weekend

Villa Park, ranked second in Orange County, and third-ranked Irvine lead a 16-team field that will begin play today at the Newport Harbor/Corona del Mar girls’ water polo tournament.
Sixth-ranked Newport Harbor, which could face Villa Park in the second round, seventh-ranked Foothill and 10th-ranked Santa Margarita also are entered. The tournament concludes with Saturday’s 3:40 p.m. championship game at Newport Harbor.
The Western tournament begins Friday at Western and Magnolia highs, with the championship match 1:50 p.m. Saturday at Western High.
