Two Men Arrested in Theft of Transmissions

Police arrested two Los Angeles men early Thursday on suspicion of stealing more than $8,000 worth of car transmissions in several burglaries over the past two months, authorities said.
About 1:30 a.m., a silent burglary alarm signaled officers to Art Carr Transmissions in the 10500 block of Bechler River Avenue, where they found two men in the midst of a burglary, Police Sgt. Dann Bean said. Seeing the officers, the men climbed onto the roof of an adjoining business and crawled into a roof hatch, police said.
With the help of a dog, officers found Demetrio Deleon and Eberardo Garcia, both 30, and arrested them on suspicion of commercial burglary, Bean said. They are being held at Orange County Jail.
Police said they believe the men are responsible for three other burglaries, netting more than a dozen transmissions, at the same business.
