Claire R. Muldoon; Retired Youth Authority Counselor

Claire R. Muldoon, a retired counselor for the California Youth Authority, died Thursday at her home in Ventura. She was 59.
Muldoon was born Nov. 19, 1937, in Walton, N.Y., and had been a Ventura County resident for 35 years.
She was employed by the state Department of Youth Authority for 10 years prior to her retirement. Muldoon was an active member of the Ventura Moose Lodge No. 1394 Women of the Moose.
Muldoon is survived by a son, Alan Macnaughton of Ventura; daughters Lorraine Macnaughton of North Hills and Lisa Macnaughton of Ventura; father Maurice Surott of Ventura; two grandchildren; and one niece.
A public memorial service will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Ventura Moose Lodge. Private interment will be at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Muldoon’s memory may be made to the American Heart Assn.
Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, Ventura.
