There Goes the Neighborhood? Not Yet

This is in response to your article “Estate Planning” on Nov. 18. I am a Realtor who sells property in the Moreno Highlands area of Silver Lake, where the Canfield-Moreno Estate is located. I also live on the same street as the estate.
The best use for that property is for someone to purchase it, rehab it and move into it. That will not happen. It has been on the market for years and just needs too much work.
The next choice is Dana Hollister’s proposed spa. I welcome it with open arms and wish her the best of luck.
An environmental impact report determined that the concerns of traffic and noise would be “negligible.” Still, we have some neighbors who are against it. Maybe they would like that beautiful hilltop estate developed into 20 residential lots? It will be too late for them to change their minds when the bulldozers are knocking trees down to make room for another displaced subdivision.
