St. Bonaventure High plays host to Verbum Dei in a Southern Section Division X football playoff game tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Ventura High.
The Seraphs (8-1-1), Tri-Valley League champions, earned the No. 3 seeding. Verbum Dei (7-3) was fourth in the Camino Real League.
St. Bonaventure’s Teohua Sanchez has passed for 2,315 yards and 20 touchdowns, while Verbum Dei’s Altrikii Brown has rushed for 1,356 yards and nine touchdowns.

Girls’ tennis: At 2 p.m., Southern Section Division I semifinal, Newport Harbor at Camarillo. Division III semifinal, Westlake vs. Harvard-Westlake at the Racquet Centre. Division IV semifinal, San Marino at Chaminade.
College events in the region today include:
Women’s volleyball: Big Sky Conference tournament at Cal State Northridge--At 5 p.m., Northern Arizona vs. Eastern Washington. At 7 p.m., Montana vs. Montana State.
