Marrow Donor Drive for Little Boy Planned

The American Red Cross Orange County Chapter will have a bone marrow drive from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday for a toddler who needs a transplant.
Two-year-old Steven Koss of Thousand Oaks has aplastic anemia, which can be cured only by a marrow transplant, Red Cross officials said. But there is no match for the boy on the National Marrow Donor Program’s registry of 1.9 million donors, officials said.
Los Alamitos Race Track, 4961 Katella Ave., is hosting the drive because a jockey read a story about Steven’s plight and decided to help, said Jon Petti, a member of the Los Alamitos Quarter Racing Assn.
Information: (800) MARROW-2.
