Van Nuys 24, Grant 6--Using a ball-control, no-huddle offense, the Wolves (6-4, 5-2) dominated at Valley College.
Carlos Mack rushed for 82 yards in 22 carries and scored on a three-yard run on Van Nuys’ first drive, which consumed more than seven minutes.
Grant receiver Miguel Chavez, who had nine catches for 102 yards, broke his left leg in the fourth quarter.
Monroe 27, Poly 6--Vinny Walker, leading rusher among area City Section schools, rushed for 267 yards and two touchdowns in 25 carries for the Vikings (6-4, 3-4) in a game against Poly (1-9, 1-6).
Monroe had 428 yards on the ground, with George Garcia adding 100 yards and two touchdowns in 11 carries, including a 63-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Alex Aguilar of Poly caught four passes for 59 yards and scored on a one-yard run early in the fourth quarter.
