Roberts Might Earn a Start

Coach Bill Fitch said he’s considering starting center Stanley Roberts, who has averaged 17 points, 10.5 rebounds and 30 minutes as a reserve in his last two games, in place of Kevin Duckworth, who has failed to score in the last two games.
Duckworth, who missed two shots in 11 minutes in Sunday’s 81-70 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, missed two shots in five minutes in Tuesday night’s 99-92 double-overtime win at Vancouver.
“Nothing’s permanent and nothing’s for always,” Fitch said. “It depends on who we’re playing and what we’re doing, but we’ll probably have to do something if we don’t get off to better starts.”

Forward Loy Vaught, who averaged a team-high 16.2 points and 10.1 rebounds last season, failed to score against the Grizzlies and has scored only seven points in his last three games, missing 13 of 15 shots.
Vaught, who missed all five shots in Friday’s 88-81 overtime loss to the New York Knicks, missed all eight of his shots at Vancouver.
