Vasquez 38, Ribet Academy 0--Sean Maloney rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns in 11 carries to lead the Mustangs (4-5, 3-1) over the Frogs (2-5, 1-3) in a Victory League game at Ribet Academy.

The Mustangs scored on the second play of the game when quarterback Joel Roberson completed a 38-yard touchdown pass to Shawn Hughes. Maloney scored his first touchdown on a seven-yard run to make the score 13-0. Vasquez made it 19-0 on a 19-yard scoring pass from Roberson to Hughes.

J.R. Faquir returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.

“I was just hoping I could make it to the end zone,” Faquir said. “With the heat and all, I was completely exhausted when I reached the end zone.”

Both teams agreed to use a running clock in the second half. It was the third consecutive victory for the Mustangs, who play Bloomington Christian next week.
