Hamme Leads Servite Past Whittier La Serna

Chris Hamme scored four goals as Servite defeated Whittier La Serna, 10-8, in the championship pool of the North Orange County water polo tournament. Hamme scored four goals in a 9-8 semifinal pool victory over Esperanza.
The Friars (21-5) went undefeated in the championship pool and tied El Dorado for the tournament championship. El Dorado defeated Esperanza in the championship pool, 14-11.
The Golden Hawks also had victories over La Serna, 8-7, and Brea Olinda, 12-8.
In other tournament games:
Garden Grove 11, Whittier 6--Jeff Colton scored six goals in a consolation victory for Garden Grove (19-7). Colton also scored six goals in an earlier consolation loss to Magnolia, 14-10.
La Habra 11, Marina 8--Dave Ploog scored three goals in a consolation victory for La Habra (17-8).
Katella 18, Cypress 8--Jeremy Janton scored four goals for Katella in a consolation victory at Servite High.
