The Music Boosters at Irvine and Woodbridge high schools will have their third annual Irvine Invitational Field Tournament from 12:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday at Irvine High School Stadium, 4321 Walnut.
The purpose of the event is to raise money for the high schools’ music programs, which need $30,000 annually to operate.
Marching bands and drill teams from two dozen high schools throughout Southern California have been invited. Schools will compete in divisions based on the size of their performing groups. Most schools will perform their halftime shows for this fall’s football games.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students, seniors and children ages 7 to 14. Children 6 and younger will be admitted free.
Information: (714) 551-8441 or (714) 857-4277.
