Charge Drops Regency Health Income; Revenue Up 34%

TUSTIN — Health-care provider Regency Health Services Inc. posted lower net income for the third quarter while revenue climbed 34%, the company said Thursday.
Net income totaled $2.4 million, or 15 cents a share, which included an extraordinary, after-tax charge of $1.2 million for paying off a debt early. A year ago, the company earned $4 million, or 22 cents a share. Revenue increased to $144.1 million from $107.5 million.
Net income for the nine-month period slipped to $8.3 million, or 48 cents a share, from $8.9 million, or 51 cents a share, for the same period in 1995. Revenue rose 35% to $411.7 million from $304.8 million.
